The bill that would have allowed real estate transfer taxes has failed in the Oregon legislature. House Bill 2518 would have allowed local governments to impose multiple taxes on property transactions but the House Committee on Business and Labor did not take any action on the bill before a self-imposed April 21st deadline, which means the bill cannot move forward according to rules imposed by the legislature.
